It can provide balancing of your emotional state because you will achieve a relaxed state with specific poses that will allow you to let go of negative emotions and deal with stress. It can also improve your posture.
Do you ever notice if you are not sitting straight in your chair as you work at your computer? Or, do you ever notice that you are watching your feet as you walk instead of looking ahead? Yoga can change this. No matter how many times we were told as children to “sit up” or “don’t slouch”, sometimes or too much of the time we slouch or don’t pay attention to how we are holding our bodies. With yoga, you can become more in-tune with how your body is feeling and how you are sitting and standing.
The poses allow you to see how your muscles are reacting and effect a change that will be for the better. Doing yoga requires that you hold stances and positions that may feel strange at first but as you go along they will feel “right” – and yoga only requires that you stand or move in a way that supports the “curve” of what a healthy spine is supposed to be. It will not only make you feel better, but you will feel as though you have grown a few inches in height because the poses enhance lengthening of the spine.
With certain poses and stances, yoga can be the key to unlock so many emotions that have been kept behind an invisible door. By unlocking that door, the emotions are released and the healing process can begin. With continued efforts, a healing takes place. So, don’t wait. Find an instructor or a beginner’s class if you have not ever tried yoga and give it a go! It will enhance how you do everything…….both with your body and mind. Be healthy!
